The real issue was the aging mechanical system and motor. Our motor was over 20 years old, barely strong enough for the roughly 300 lb wood door, and ALL of the moving components were worn out. Replace the entire door at whatever quality level we wanted -- He was honest that a comparable custom wood door would likely be extremely expensive; but it would come complete with completely new mechanical parts that would solve the issue... OR 2. Keep the existing door and completely overhaul the mechanics — springs, bearings, rollers, center track, and opener. We chose option #2, and I’m very glad we did. The original quote for that was around $5,100, but Jesse worked with me on pricing and negotiated fairly. We ultimately landed around $3,500 for a full mechanical overhaul plus a brand-new motor system. I felt good recommending that path to my mom because it preserved the original door we love while making everything function safely and smoothly again. Now the door works like new — no grinding, no scary noises, no jerking or stopping. The upgraded opener is also a huge improvement: * properly rated for the weight of the door * battery backup (a big deal since their power goes out frequently) * smartphone/app compatibility for remote open/close access Overall, Jesse was honest, patient, knowledgeable, and transparent throughout the entire process. As someone who is very cautious about contractors and pretty good at spotting when I’m being upsold, I genuinely felt like he approached this the right way. He spent a lot of time walking me through the options, answering questions, and helping us make the best long-term decision instead of just pushing the most expensive one. The entire job was completed in about 3 hours, and we are extremely happy with the results. We’ll absolutely recommend Precision Garage Door Service going forward.

Precision had installed our garage door a few years ago. They have been doing maintenance over the years and we finally had to replace the springs. I called emergency service over the weekend and they accommodated us right away. Justin replaced our springs and did a fantastic job. Highly recommend their service. They are not the cheapest but their quality of work and service is superb.
