Precision did a great job in replacing our old garage door opener and a special thanks to Hector, your repairman. He made every effort to correct the old opener but to no avail. After 30 minutes of readjusting the motor, it was evident that it was not going to work. He explained what he was could do to replace the old door and gave us a reasonable quote and was able to complete the job in just two hours. My complements to Hector and the company. The folks at Precision responded pretty quickly and got someone out to my SF house. I had a functioning garage door, but clearly the spring and roller assembly was on the edge of failure. The tech - Pallino was his name maybe? - was able to replace the old spring and remount the bar quickly. I think the work was done quickly and well. On the negative side, it was difficult to get square answers about prices and quotations for different scopes of work. I never did get a written estimate for the work done today, or for the eventual replacement of the door and drive mechanism. Just round numbers, delivered verbally. It also seemed like a pretty expensive job for the work done today. $550 for the spring + bracket/brace replacement + general servicing. So, while the work was done competently, I'm wary of proceeding with larger jobs, since I'm not sure what it would cost or whether the pricing might be high. Anyway - thanks for coming out and making my garage door safe. It definitely needed attention. Best, Greg
