Precision Garage Door Service Of West Indianapolis

Our garage door is over 20 years old and was really showing wear and tear. It was no longer working with the opener so I knew it was time to call for help. I was filling out a survey on Indy Star’s Best of Indy and saw Precision Garage Door Service was one of the companies listed. I am so glad I contacted them for help! The chat function made it very easy to get a couple of questions answered and to schedule their service. They came the next day. Before arriving, I received a text letting me know who to expect and a little bit about the technician. I appreciate this courtesy! When Eric arrived he was very kind and professional. He evaluated the situation and told me what he found and provided different paths to a solution. One was to get it working but would probably need help again in the near future or perform a service where we won’t need help again for another 20 years. He came equipped to fix the problem on the spot. The job was done in less than 2 hours and as a bonus he released a HUGE spider I had trapped under a cup and was afraid to move!! (We went with the “fix it all” option.)

On Monday morning 9/14/26 at 3:20 a.m., I discovered that my garage door wasn’t working. The door barely went up a half a foot. Then it went back down. By 4 a.m. I got in touch with a garage door repair company (Precision Garage Door Service). My car was still trapped inside. Customer service said they could get someone to my house between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The main thing that was broken was the torsion spring (see photo). The team member went over everything that was wrong with the garage door. Depending on how much I was willing to spend he broke everything down into 3 groups. 1. Critical repairs that had to be done in order to get the garage door working again (the torsion spring being the main problem). 2. Major problems (1 additional thing was in really bad shape). 3. Complete repairs. (If I wanted to fix absolutely everything that was wrong with the door.) I chose option 3. Fix everything. The door only had 1 torsion spring (which was broken into two pieces). I chose to add a 2nd torsion spring (see photo) to help support the door. The garage door is big and should have had a 2nd torsion spring to begin with, but when I bought the house, the garage door only had 1 torsion spring. The garage door was very old, so that’s why I chose to fix everything. It had a lot of wear and tear with various parts. There was even a cable and a lower bracket that had both completely rusted out. The torsion spring price I thought was very reasonable ($250 each). You can see attached photos to see the broken torsion spring and then the 2 new ones that I had added to it. The door is definitely moving much more smoothly since I had the second torsion spring added. Only having one torsion spring before for such a large door actually caused some damage to a couple of parts over time. The team member who worked on my garage door (Ben H) did a wonderful job.

I got satisfied with the service I received. They matched a lower price quote from another company and made it possible to have the garage door springs replaced earlier than the scheduled appointment time. Those are two things that any customer would be happy with and will appreciate very much. Mark, the tech did a good job and took the time to make sure it was done right.
