The quote I got on the phone was $85 for the visit, inspection, and labor to replace the torsion spring; plus the cost of the spring ($96-$210). The inspection was just an opportunity to try and upsell me to a quote of almost $500. So I pushed back, quoted what I was told, and provided another quote for $300. They said they would do for $295, but then told me that the do not service 9' X 9' garage doors (can't get the spring), and that they can't help me. That's fine, however they demanded their $85. Honestly, if it wasn't for my wife stepping in, there's no way Precision would have left with my $85; when I was left with nothing. So I called a local family owned company, they had the spring, were at my house in a few hours, and the door was fixed for $150. The 2 young men from Precision that came out seemed nice enough, but the company itself should maybe focus more on customer service than the dollar. I am out $85 by a bunch of crooks, and will never call, or recommend Precision Door. cc: Next Door, Yelp, Etc.

Unfortunately, we do not carry springs on our trucks for a door that is 9’ in height, which is considered commercial application (not residential). This is a custom size spring that we would need to order from our distribution center. Your technician provided Good, Better, and Best recommendations/estimates based on the items that failed the safety inspection on both of your garage doors. The $295.00 quote was the minimum repair that included the service fee and the custom spring, but did not address any the additional issues. 04/27/21 - My technician today was Max. Max inspected the entire garage door system and assessed correctly that a complete extension overhaul was required. He thoroughly explained the function of all of the components that were either broken or were worn out. He took the time to answer all of my questions as the work was being performed. After the work was completed the garage door performed as it did when it was new (20 years ago). Max is a very conscientious and professional technician who knows his trade. Would recommend him highly without any reservation to any of my neighbors. In fact, I will be doing just that. Thanks Max!

Max came out to install a new garage door opener (the old one was decades old). Max was extremely knowledgeable and explained what had to be done to make repairs so my doors would operate properly and safely. He showed how the doors were improperly installed years ago. My husband and I are always happy to see Patrick here. We had several problems that were no problems at all for Patrick! He showed me how to insert the battery into the Garage Door device that I use in my auto and it turned out that I had inserted it incorrectly. Then he discovered that the reason why the garage door was not closing was simply because we had failed to dust or wipe off the door lights at the bottom of the garage door. And then he gave us a price on inserting a new gasket at the bottom of the double garage door but he said it was not probably necessary. Most of these were our mistakes and he was able to fix them for us. Thank you to Patrick and to Precision Garage Door for hiring someone like Patrick.

I have rarely written online reviews but felt compelled to post something based on my experience with Precision over the past 24 hours. I called to schedule an appointment to have my noisy, lurching garage door repaired and received a next-day appointment. On the day of the appointment Suzanne proactively reached out to me to let me know that they were missing a technician today due to an illness. The other techs were picking up his appointments. So Max calls 20 minutes before he arrives - only slightly outside the window of my scheduled time slot. Max was a consummate professional and overhauled both garage doors (replaced lift and safety springs, new pulleys, rollers, loop springs, re-torqued, lubed and adjusted my existing garage door openers). What a transformation! Opening and closing the doors is now super quiet and silky smooth! This company is fantastic.

I cannot speak highly enough of your technician Max. He worked nonstop from 8 to 11 PM to replace the rod and springs on our broken garage door and made comprehensive repairs and adjustments. I watched him for about half of that time and marveled at the joy that he takes in his craft. He is a true craftsman, as well as a real gentleman. He even adjusted the guide lights of our door opener for us. The garage door has never opened as cleanly and quietly as it does now. Ours is an old 20+ years door that will now last several more years thanks to Max; and when it comes time to replace it, we know who to call. Very, very impressed.

Our garage was old and in need of a tune up. Max was wonderful. He laid out all my options and never pushed to try and sell me something I didn't need. He walked me through the repairs before and after and helped me reprogram my keypad which had never worked in the 5 years we've been at this house. Eventually we will need to replace the motor, springs, and cables and Max was able to provide me with a quote for that when the time comes. I will definitely be called Precision Door Service back and requesting Max when we are in need of that repair.

They came early but took the time to fix it right. The garage seems quiet now. It now runs like a champ. I wasn’t sure if the safety, adjustments and maintenance check counts under the job call, which was waived due to repair, but seemed like that when the lady stated the waived service call fee includes the safety and adjustment check. $69 was on the bill still...but besides that, great guy and great service.

I will start off by saying thank you to Kevin for prompt, on-time arrival. Great explanation of overall condition of door, components, and functionality. I did not need any repairs components replaced; however, Kevin's recommendation fell right in with the preventive maintenance I was wanting done. Rollers, cables, new springs (where there was only one before from the builder). Quick, clean, and accurate work. I would definitely recommend Precision Door. 5-Stars yes because of the customer service, timeliness and overall service. Only detractor (and I understand operating costs) perhaps waive the "service fee" if work/parts exceeds that fee. If you need door work done, call this company.
