Terrible experience. All they wanted to do was sell us things we didn’t need-all new parts, garage door, garage door opener Didn’t even attempt to fix the problem. Had another company come out the following day and fixed the problem. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

Don't call these guys. They have a programmed "service" call that finds multiple BS problems with your garage door. Our opener was fried by a power surge. By the time these sleezeballs were done, they would have had us pay them thousands to fix "issues" they found. And we were charged a "service fee" for their sales pitch.

I chose precision because of the years in the business. My initial call to the company resulted in me informing the receptionist of my problem which consisted of me installing a new door but I used the old tracks the service guy came out. Had no personality whatsoever really acted as if he didn't want to be out on a Sunday. He informed me at that time that they do not touch or do any work on any garage doors that they do not install. Now I have a bad taste of my mouth because the young lady that took my call could have informed me of this decision initially and it could have saved me $64.80 thank you precision but you will never ever get any business from me or anyone I know

The sales rep came to inspect my garage door for a problem I called; the door was making a loud clanging noise. After he completed his inspection he told me he would follow up with an estimate. I never heard from him again.

Response:

Dear Mr. Carbajal, Thank you for taking my call this morning. I am glad we were able to clarify that Precision Door was not the company that came out to your home recently, as we have not provided service at your home since March of 2022. We do, however, want to be your one and only service provider so you don't have to experience poor service again! I will get some business cards in the mail today so that you always have our contact information handy. If we can be of service, please feel free to call us at 210-930-5034. It was truly a pleasure speaking with you today. Thank you for choosing Precision Overhead Garage Doors!

This was a total ripoff. I requested a new garage opener for which I payed 400.00 for, because the person sent by the company did an “inspection” of the system which I never authorized. He did propose about 1,500.00 for refurbishment which I most heartily declined, however I was stuck with the 400.00 fee.

Your expert installers behaved more like scam artists. All I wanted to do was replacing my garage opener and I was given a bogus estimate $1450.00 penciled on a piece of paper. Nothing professional I expected Precision Garage Doors Home Depot can the job for about $ 350.00

I typically don't leave negative reviews, positive yes, but generally stick with if you haven't got anything good to say, don't say it at all. However, this was so bad I feel it is only fair to put it out there. We had a working garage door. We were adding additional remotes and upon opening the door it became stuck and wouldn't work. My husband disconnected the door, we checked the sensors, etc. to no avail. We phoned Premier Garage Door. They have a large number of very positive reviews. The service technician who came to the home mentioned figures ranging from $200+ to over $1,000. We were told we needed a new electronic board, new springs, a new frame...if we wanted to save money we could purchase a new garage door opener ourselves and he would install it for $265. He disconnected the garage door and pretended to struggle to lift the door, stating the system was from 2010 and really needed replaced. This is the same door that we disconnected the night before and had no issue manually lifting. The sales pitch was so exaggerated and ridiculous that my husband brought the tech into the house to repeat everything to me before stating we wouldn't need their services. Needless to say, we paid the $49.99 charge to come out, called another company, 614 Garage Door, paid $100 and the door works great. In addition, the tech from 614 explained how to tell if our springs were bad, along with additional information to prevent us from being scammed in the future. Our garage door had simply kicked back too far and became stuck. The 614 tech adjusted the door and reset our garage door openers for use and we haven't had any issues since. Thanks to 614 Garage Door for repairing our door in under 30 minutes and being honest and informative. I do not recommend Premier Garage Door. Thank goodness they only got me for $49.99.

The service man was very nice. As far as your charge of $1433.00 was totally outrageous!! You take advantage of older women who need their garage door opener fixed ASAP. I will not recommend you to anyone. I feel as though I’ve been 100% cheated!!!! A contractor friend of mine told me today that he could have installed a completely NEW opener for $400.00. I’m sorry you do not have a conscious !!!!!!

I chose Precision because of prior service. The technician then was absolutely the greatest. Service and quality was number one. I guess that set my expectation way to high because I am extremely dissatisfied with the installation of a new garage door opener. I walked out to see a completed project and saw an extension cord from the unit to my wall socket, furthermore there was visible wire taped to my ceiling from the switch to the unit and all down the walls. When I asked about it all I got was "this is how we do it". If this is the way that it is going to be done, that should have been explained before the service was provided. I feel like this job was done by a child, not a professional. Very disappointed and not even close to worth the price. This really changed my opinion of Precision Door and I wont hesitate in sharing my opinion with others.

We used Precision Door to replace a spring that came disconnected. And they did do a good job but here's the thing, they charged us $812 for the job: $298 for a pair of springs, $299 for the cable, $200 for 4 pulleys. This is a 300% markup Be more transparent with your pricing model. I don't mind paying for labor. I do mind being lied to

As a competitor to the #1 original garage door installer here in Houston, I would have thought your salesperson would be professional and know his product. He (Nur) arrived with no business car, no brochure and wanted to chitchat for too long. He then asked to borrow a tape measure with a five minute story on why he didn’t have one. I told him Exactly what I wanted but he wanted to argue colors and their higher cost; not true. I knew more about his product that he. When I did get the emailed estimate, it wasnt what I asked for (you have two brands and he only priced one and the price was 55% more than you competitor. No thank you. Then he calls and tells me he was out of sorts because I knew so much about doors and most people don’t. Really? I’m about to spend thousands of dollars and I don’t research it? As an interior designer I research products all day for clients. Maybe he thought we were just a little old couple and could play the high price game. So unprofessional. I will not refer your company to anyone.

When I first called for a repair Christian arrived to do the repair. I needed 2 door sensers. After installing the sensors he damaged the control unit by bending the top panel of the garage door. I waited almost 2 months. Yesterday 08/09/23 2 Technicians came to replace the top door panel and in that process they damaged the top panel and 2nd door panel. Once again a delay in completing the job. Saying you have quality service and highly qualified technicians I totally disagree.

To simply put the Garage door back on track and align my tension cord cause it came undone on one side was gunna be almost 400! That’s without any new parts lol. If I wanted new parts the price went up to 560, 730, and 1040$ and that’s just for new wheels and two new cords with rollers for the cord. lol can get a brand new door opener with installation for less than that!

Solved problem?? Courteous and Professional ?? Helpful?? Prompt?? Price???????? For what we paid I would’ve expected the work area put back to spotless. Maybe even wipe down the white inside of the door. People beware! Although very prompt response I was charged what felt like “Emergency Repair” price. Let these people do your quote. Don’t let them pressure you. Get other quotes. You’ll thank me.

I will NEVER do business with your company again. I called because one of my springs broke, your guy quoted me $600, when I told him I wasn’t going to do it, he said he can price match. The manager, Thomas called me and offered to lower the price, but I would not accept it because this tells me that they are dishonest and they overcharge, therefore I can Never do business and trust these people in my home. These are tough times for most and sometimes people have to take a loan or borrow from family to make a repair at the house and for this company to just not take into consideration the person that you are dealing with….that speaks louder than words. Years ago and friend experienced the same situation, but I actually forgot about it and called your company but I am not going to forget now. I will never do business even if I have to wait extra days for another company to come help.

BE AWARE ----Showed up as scheduled. I had a broken spring on my garage door. The tech came in and looked at the spring. Then he said I needed all new rollers on the sides of the door and that my garage door opener was also bad. What? He had not seen the opener run or even tried it. I said just fix the spring. This led to MORE parts, new cable spools, new cables , and new bearings on the spring shaft. Another 230 dollars more than the 490 dollar spring replacement I was quoted and paid for. Now I had another 230 dollar invoice for a total of 720 dollars. He asked that I open the door manually and the cable fell off. He said I did not open the door correctly! Really? He put it back on and he opened the door and the cable fell off again. So it was never the way I opened the door. Blame the customer. He said the door was fixed. But never even tried it again before he put his ladder and equipment back on his truck. I told him to show me that it was working. It wasn't working. He said he would fix it without additional charges. There seemed to be a lot of up selling. The door now works manually with the "supposed bad side rollers". All for a cost of 720 dollars. Not sure if my garage door opener will work or not. I will need to hire another company to check out garage opener. At this point I did not trust anything the tech said was bad. BE AWARE --- Lots of up selling was going on. Myself, friends and other family members who heard my story had similar stories of up selling and will no longer use this company. VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!

Response:

Dear Mr. Pfeiffer, We regret that you were disappointed with the repair recommendations that were provided by our technician. We always consider safety to be the number one priority in every service estimate. During his visit, our technician identified the following concerns: A broken spring, frayed cables, cable drums that could not be set securely because the shaft was too worn on the end, and worn end bearings, all of which are safety concerns. He also recommended replacing the 20-year-old rollers which were worn and wobbly, which you declined. While we understand that our customers often expect our technicians to perform a simple fix, such as "Just replace the spring...", we cannot, in good conscience, simply perform that single repair when it would not ensure the safe, reliable operation of the door. Garage door components require regular maintenance, and unfortunately, repeated use of the door causes wear and tear, thus, neglecting to service the door can result in costly repairs. In this case, many of your garage door components needed attention, and our technician performed only the work that you had approved. Subsequently, we waived the cost of the replacement spring shaft, and offered to send a second technician out to verify that all work was completed to your satisfaction. We have not heard back from you since then. If we can be of assistance in any way, please feel free to contact our office.

I put one star because it was required that I did so, otherwise there wouldn't be any star on this rating. I cancelled my order of three rollup doors for our storage facility. The representative that measured the doors couldn't give me any clear options of doors to choose from. Thus, I asked him to match ones I had ordered from Precision years before. Several days later when I had to call to find out what was happening with my order and get a delivery schedule, I then found out that the doors he sold me took at least 8 weeks and are hard to get. No one from sales ever offered to show me what products they had available and times of delivery so that I could make an informed decision and purchase three doors. The lack of professionalism in customer service and obvious lack of viable product available from Precision Door made me cancel my order. Even then no one followed up questioning why I had abruptly pulled my order. It would have been good to know ahead of time that storage doors are not part of your products or service. I am truly baffled how you stay in business.

The technician was extremely nice and professional, but the price I was quoted was a major rip off. I was quoted three prices, which that in itself is ridiculous. The torsion spring broke on a single, non-insulated garage door. The lowest price given was around 500.00. I went with a local man, and he changed the spring. the cables and charged me 280.00. Precision are crooks!!!!!

I can't find the words!! I am disappointed, disgusted, sickened, and many more disapproving words!!!!! I cannot believe how ripped off I feel!!! For starters I was sold a garage door opener for $774 that I found at lowes for $159. I found garage door springs at home depot for $100 a pair and they charged me $920. Was charged $350 for GDO installation. For the most part the tech was very professional, but he left my door button falling off the wall. So I got on a live chat that night and they assured me a supervisor would call me back. They didnt. I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. WELL, MAYBE AN ENEMY. So I have a $1,860 bill to pay when it should have been around maybe $700 if that. 4 words come to mind. Ripped off and highway robbery. I am going to let everyone that I can what you did to me. Going to talk to the better business bureau on MONDAY!!!

The installers chipped out 4 places on our garage floor without even asking to install new rails. They even used my husband's wood chisel to do it and ruined the chisel. They did not even say anything about it nor did they clean up the debris left behind. Precision tells us they will fix the floor "sometime" but we have been unable to get a fixed date. Garage doors were not installed properly and had to be adjusted and still make a terrible noise when we open them. So DISAPPOINTED!

I would under no circumstances use this company. I called and they came out 30 minutes early. Told my wife my garage door system required full replacement at $1,700. After I told them I would not pay that they excepted $140 after arguing with me for greater than 30 minutes. I debated calling the police to get the “technician” he really was a high pressure sales person to leave. I called Connecticut Garage Door Service who replaced my opener for $800 and said the whole system did not require replacement. I actually intend to call the better business bureau and will be leaving this same review on Yelp, yahoo, google and anywhere else that accepts reviews. I hope any of those that did use them were not ripped off and had a better experience.

Response:

We’re sorry your experience wasn’t what you hoped for. We are quite shocked by your accusation that you felt you needed to call the police to have our technician leave, especially since you waited over 2 months to write this review and never reached out to us to voice any concern. Some customers are surprised to hear that their garage door needs work, despite never providing maintenance on their doors. This customer’s door was in pretty bad shape: the door sections are rusting, the springs are weakened beyond their useful life, all 4 pulleys are wobbling, and one pulley is splitting (which at times catches the cable and jerks the door), and the lift cables are frayed. This all leads to a jerking, unsafe, and very noisy door system, which stripped the gears on the customer’s existing operator motor. The customer didn’t want to hear why his opener had failed, and only wanted it replaced. We could have sold this customer a new door opener (for about 10% less than the other company did), but we tried to explain that replacing the door opener without addressing the door issues would lead to the gears stripping in the new door opener – this customer called us to look at their door and we found that the opener’s gears had stripped. The customer didn’t like what they heard and became very agitated. It’s at this point the customer demanded our technician leave. Our technician asked the customer to pay the agreed-to service fee (the customer used our online scheduling system which specifically asks that they acknowledge and agree to pay the service fee). When they refused to pay, our technician left. Those are the documented facts from our automated technician field system. I’m sorry, but we’re having a hard time trying to see how you could think you needed to call the police. Not once did this customer call and talk to us about their concerns but decided to hide behind an anonymous review. We ask those of you reading this review to look at our thousands of 5-star reviews and ask if this sounds like the same technician or the same company.

Richard did an outstanding job reviewing the findings on my door and replacing the broken spring and installing a new weather seal. He is very professional and takes pride in his work. Precision Door has maintained our door since 2003 and did a door overhaul in 2011 which included replacement springs. The invoice was clearly marked Lifetime Warranty Parts and Labor. I was extremely disappointed when Richard explained the labor is not longer covered due to a company buyout or whatever. The lifetime warranty was one of the main reasons we decided on the door overhaul in 2011. I don’t care what the transpired with the change of ownership. Existing agreements should be honored under a grandfather clause. This is the reason I am giving a low review, even though the repair work was top notch and Richard is an outstanding technician who unfortunately had to deliver the bad news to us about no labor coverage. You can adjust my billing and I will be glad to give a 5 star review.

Response:

Mr. Hendricks, thank you speaking with our service manager Allison about the warranty of your door. We are happy she was able to help clear up any misunderstanding and questions you had. We also really appreciate you taking the time to post a follow up review and leave this 5 star review on google: George Hendricks ????? 6 days ago I posted an earlier review where I gave the company a 1 for my review. The local manager called immediately and the issue was resolve and it was all due to a misunderstanding largely on my part. I promised in the original review to change my rating to a 5 if the issue was cleared up and it was to my satisfaction. Turns out the company was standing by the original agreement from the start. I will continue to do business with this company for my future needs. Thanks to Richard for the great service work and to Allison for the prompt telephone and resolving the issue. We appreciate your business and we look forward to working with you again when needed.

If I could give 0 stars, that would be more appropriate. The technician came to my home today and I told him what the issues were. He looked over my system and said it would be $599 to replace 1 safety sensor and to replace the circuit board, which is not bad. I said absolutely not. I could buy a brand new system alot cheaper. He left after charging me $59 to look at my system. I went to Home Dept and bought the safety sensor for less than $40. I new my circuit board wasn't bad so I switched the wall consoles around and IT WORKS. I will have to buy a new wall console, it cost $28 on Amazon. So for $68 I fixed it myself.

Response:

We appreciate your feedback, have looked into the service call and refunded the $59.00 to you. Here at Precision Door we strive for complete customer satisfaction, and apologize that we were unable to meet those standards this time. Thank you

When I called for an appointment I informed the person that I spoke with that I had a Chamberlain model 900D garage door opener and that the drive belt was broken. I need a new belt installed. This opens an 8' garage door. The service tech arrived and asked what my problem was and I told him that I needed a new drive belt. He just proceeded to do an inspection of the unit and door and then said that he would get me an estimate in 5-10 minutes. Then proceed to tell me about how my unit works compared to the new units and that the motor on my unit could possibly be damaged because it broke the belt. I explained that the belt was old and showed him how dry rotted and cracked all over the belt was with many missing teeth. He seemed more interested in selling and installing a whole new system than replacing the belt. Reminded me of the service department at an auto dealership. I Just needed a new belt installed. I didn't expect or want a warranty on my whole system just for replacing the belt. I bought and installed this unit myself many years ago and if need be I will buy and install a new unit myself. You could have saved your time and my my service call charge if you had just told me that you would not just install a new belt.

I think that the service people that were sent were polite and courteous and they knew what they were doing. However, and this is the biggest complaint I have about Precision Door Service and why I will not use you again. When I experienced my initial problem in December of last year, I was told that I would have to wait for six weeks to get a service person. I could not open my garage door, so six weeks is a ridiculous thing to offer up. This time around, the first time I set the schedule up, it was for two weeks ago (it only took a week and a half this time), then was cancelled due to illness on the part of the serviceman. I had to wait another two weeks to get on your schedule and no one in their right mind would put up with these waits when you have a door that can't open. You must have more business than you can handle, so my leaving won't hurt much, but the stories I tell my considerable group of people will probably do more damage. This is a service business. When someone has a broken spring, nothing will be solved in weeks. Maybe days, but weeks, and in the first case, a month and a half...it is beyond ludicrous. Although the service was good, the company get's an "F". I also get an "F" for putting up with it. It won't happen again. No matter who I use, no matter what happens, it won't be a month and a half for an emergency. I am done with Precision. You should be ashamed and simply offer an alternative path for people who cannot get to work or to a medical emergency. Shame on you and shame on me for putting up with it. Never, ever again!

Recently had springs replaced. When they did the work they modified other parts which then caused more damage and malfunction of door resulting in a second repair estimate for $2500. Reached out to management to help resolve. They returned and admitted that a part was altered but then laughed and repeated that they are a reputable company that does excellent work also refusing to put the part back in the original position. I ended up fixing the part myself and am left with stress tears in my door. Just disappointed in how it was handled.

Response:

Hey Steven, thanks for sending in the review concerning your garage door issue.  Looking into this further it appears our technicians, on both occasions, were attempting to explain that the long term need was to replace the door entirely but due to the house being for sale it was not a desired solution.  We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and would be willing to apply the initial repair in full to a new door.  We look forward to the opportunity to earn your business back in the future!

The technician replaced a broken torsion spring. Since they are replaced in pairs, he replaced the other spring as well. Everything went south from there. One spring is a different diameter than the other. The cables came off the spools. He finally gave up and charged me just for the service call. However I am still stuck with a non-functioning door and 2 different size torsion springs.

Response:

We are sorry to hear this customer is not happy with our service provided. We have refunded this customer his service call fee. As the customer noted, he was not charged for the parts used to try to repair his door. We reviewed with our Technician, and he confirmed that the customer needs to replace his garage door and that he recommend total replacement of the garage door to the customer. The customer expressed to our Technician that he is selling the house and really didn’t want to spend that money. Our Technician tried to help him out and do a band-aid repair to a garage door that he should not have tried to repair at all. We have specifically reviewed these details with our Technician.

Very dissatisfied with the service I have received. I have had ongoing issues with my door since it was installed 2 years ago. My door finally caved in and no one knows why but the company is going to charge me $5,000 to replace a door that I believe should be covered under their “lifetime warranty”. The service tech who came out for the cave in told me I should have had metal supports installed on the inside middle section of my door but this is the first time I’m being told this after having 2 or 3 previous service techs out for issues. The manager I spoke to on the phone stated, “I have never seen a door cave in like yours and I have been in the business for a long time”. The manager then proceeded to try and convince me that something had to have hit my door even though I kept telling him that was impossible because there was a car parked in my driveway. Another issue is I received a quote for $2,500 from a different company for the same door as Precision is going to install. This other company told me they purchase their doors at the same distributor as Precision. I’m not sure why there is such a huge mark up in price with Precision. The other company is even going to install the metal supports that the Precision tech said I should have had installed. Keith arrived on time and was a nice guy. We talked about what was wrong with my door and options to fix it. I asked how the cable on the pulley could come out of the guide hole while the hole remained intact. He said it should not have been like that. It was in the guide hole on the other side, but Keith showed me signs of wear and inferred it would be best to replace as well. During our discussion, he mentioned that Precision had been to my house for a service call in 2019. I asked if it for a full installation, and he said no. I thought nothing more about this, and went with Keiths' recommendations that would fix everything except the motor dying or me crashing into the door itself. New pulleys/cables, door rollers, and springs. It was quite expensive, but what isn't these days. It was only when I went to give Keith praise in a review, that I stumbled upon the Precision invoice from 2019. It was a technician named Michael G that did the same work then as Keith did today. New pulleys/cables and new springs, only the pulleys were done incorrectly. If he had done them right, my door would not have needed repair today . I can't help but think that since Keith brought up my previous business with Precision, he knew what Michael had done incorrectly. I think he knew I had bought new springs in 2019, but sold me new ones today for twice as much. I had peace of mind when he left. When I found out that the root cause of my problem today was due to faulty workmanship from a Precision technician in 2019, I was quite upset. When I tried to contact a supervisor, I was told a supervisor would call me back. No one called. I feel very let down. I am a trusting person, but these types of experiences leave me drained. Hopefully Keith did a good job today and I won't need garage door repair for a long time, but when I do, you can be damn sure I won't be calling Precision.

The technician was excellent. However, what you charged was not! It was a complete rip-off! I wanted 2 extension springs replaced. The technician told me that it would cost $800!!! Seriously are your extension springs made out of gold? I said absolutely not! So he called you and then the new price was $400!!! Was I supposed to feel better that you started with a bogus price of $800 and then miraculously cut the price in half?? Shame on you and Precision for taking advantage of senior citizens on fixed incomes!! Very disgraceful and you should be ashamed of yourself!

Precision door installation process not getting done. Inch and a half gap left between the door seal and the floor from a month ago! Still trying to get this resolved. They want us to pay an extra $160 for a $2400 door installation. Making sure there is a good seal is part of the installation.

Garage door is having issues, so I called to schedule service. I was able to get an appointment the same day, and Technician came out earlier than promised which was great. Unfortunately they are not authorized to work on the Wayne Dalton spring that I have, and the only option offered was to pay $700+ to switch spring systems. Ended up paying a $49 service fee, and will have to call a Wayne Dalton authorized dealer. Technician mentioned that most homes have Wayne Dalton these days, I wish they would have mentioned that over the phone, it would have saved me $49.

I am only giving one star because the technician was so nice. Unfortunately, my garage door, which wasn't rising smoothly, got progressively worse after he left Friday. By Sunday, it was completely stuck and the manual release isn't releasing. So my car is trapped. Awaiting their return tomorrow morning and hoping for a fix this time.

Six years ago we purchased two garage doors from Precision Door and all went well. This week three panels needed replacing and nothing went well. After an estimate, they require half the cost to be paid before anything work could be done - this should have been a warning to me! On the day of installation, no one showed up. The next day, after repeated phone calls where each time I was assured that a manager or scheduler would calls back, I finally got a call in the late afternoon rescheduling the installation. When the installer arrived, the wrong size panels had been ordered and installation was again delayed.

Response:

Mrs. Cunningham - I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with our company. I assure you customer service is our top priority. I seen that you were sent the wrong panel out and this was the cause of your issues you had. I know this has been corrected and you have also spoken to the General Manager and we have agreed and have sent you a refund check for all of the headaches. I do apologize. Thank You for speaking with us and allowing us to corect our mistakes. Have a great day. !

Called Precision garage door to fix a broken spring. He arrived promptly and replaced the hinge for what I thought was a reasonable cost, given that its well beyond a normal home owners capability to replace. But the tech then proceeded to find all sort of add on's...$200 to apply lubricant to 3 doors (which he said was a deal since it's usually $200 door). Took him all of 5 minutes for all 3 doors. I found the lubricants on Amazon for $25. Then he found a damaged hinge and replaced it for $120. Took him 3 minutes. TWO hinges on Amazon are only $12. So that's $110 for 3 minutes labor. Given that driving and set up costs were already included in the spring replacement, that's just absurd. He also replaced 10 rollers for $400. Rollers cost $15 on Amazon. Took him under 10 minutes to replace all 10. While I understand there's value to having the parts in hand as well as the tech's experience, it's not even close to what I was charged. I'd give 0 stars if it was an option. Live and learn!

After the spring repair, I had a sales person come out to price replacing the garage door. The sales person was at the house for over hour and was lacking professionalism. I finally kicked him out when he said he could match any other company’s price on a “shitty garage door” and Precision could install the “same shitty garage door.” The entire production included more than enough sales gimmicks. There are better company’s out there.

Response:

Hey Jeff, I apologize you were offended with the estimators foul language. He should know better. With that said, we can match any price on a lower quality door. We carry a full line of products, which includes cheap builder grade doors that are very common in this area. It is our goal to educate our customer so they can make the best decision for themselves. We can also show you the difference between a high quality door and one of these poorly made doors while we are there. You should have gotten prices for both. I assume that is why he was there for over an hour. Perhaps we struggled to deliver that information. I'm not sure what you mean by "sales gimmicks" we have the best products and warranty in the industry. No Gimmicks, just good deals!

I reached out to the company to have garage trim and garage doors replaced. I was very clear about needing the trim done and was advised the company offers the trim work. We received a 4 hour window for the estimate appointment, which is very inconvenient. Our tech advised that they don’t provide the trim work. We did receive an estimate for the doors alone, which was substantially higher than a quote we received elsewhere for both the doors and the trim. We wasted our time waiting for an estimate from a company that could not provide the services we were very clear about needing from the very first interaction.

Response:

We are very sorry about the misunderstanding. While listening to your call, it was obvious that the customer service representative wasn't exactly sure what you wanted. In fact, in our terminology we install weatherseal, which within the industry is known as trim. Again sorry about the miscommunication. We check our prices against our competition regularly. It's very rare that our prices are higher than our reputable and established competitors.

I Called to schedule appointment and described in some detail that only bottom of garage door was damaged and needed repair. Woman who took my call never asked what name was of original garage door manufacturer. When salesman (not repairman) arrived, he started to hand me a detailed brochure stating that there were many garage doors to choose from. When I explained we just needed bottom of door repaired, he stated that Precision only repaired their doors and could only offer a replacement door. Thanks for wasting my time, I could have had a different company out to inspect door for repair had person who set appointment was trained to ask who original manufacturer was and advise that repair couldn’t be done by Precision.

On April 25, 2023 the technician that has originally presented to my home returned. This visit was a follow-up garage door repair/bottom seal as recommended. The additional cost was paid prior to the April 25th visit. The technician presented to my home/garage as scheduled. The technician, stated he was unable to perform the work as per his recommended. He stated the amount paid would be reimbursed. In preparation for the planned work/bottom seal the previous bottom seal was removed, thus leaving a gap of approx. 2-3 inches. We now have to find a solution to this, closing the gap so as to prevent the entry of insects, rodents, and rain from entering my home via the garage as left by the technician. I contacted your office on 4/26 requesting follow-up, was told someone would be contacting me, yet I'm still waiting. As I perused the internet, thus reading reviews, and BBB website I thought Precision Door was a good fit. Apparently I was WRONG! Respectfully, Leslie A. Royal

No Confidence. Had a tech stop by and do an estimate, little more expensive than others but they were professional. Said the door was in stock, and installation was scheduled for Monday. That's where they dropped the ball! I took the day off, about mid-morning I called and I was not on the schedule. I took the rest of the day for someone to get back to me and all I got was an apology. No discount or anything for the inconvenience. They finally showed up the next day and completed the job. Tech did a good job. If you are considering them shop around, not the best value for what they charge. I get sick whenever I see the commercial on TV now!

After installing new garage door I noticed that the door would not go up or come down after directing it too. It would not come completely down. I called your company and reported it. Your company scheduled someone to address the problem. However, that same day the fittings that secured the door gave way and the door collapsed. I could not manually raise it. My main concern was getting my car out because I had to work the next day. I called your company and advised your representative about what had happened. I told her I needed to get my car out because I had to work the next day. After placing me on hold she returned and apologized but said there was no one available to help me-no one to at least raise the door so that I could get my car out. Your repairman/technician arrived Friday afternoon as scheduled and after seeing the problem tried to fix it but couldn't. After giving more apologies I was told that no one would be available to fix the problem until Monday. He did raise the door and free my car. Monday the repairman/technician came and worked to fix the problem. Time will tell if he was successful.

Sadly disappointed. Guy came out on Friday. R spring broke. Car trapped in garage. He couldn't raise because R cable came off R drum. I said, can't you disconnect the cable and re-thread on drum? No, he said. So, no go; and he left. And, no appointments available over weekend. We were stuck. So after he left, I disconnected the drum; rethreaded the cable, reconnected the drum and, using a lever, lifted the door to get the car out. Then received estimate from your guy -- stunningly stupidly price-gauging -- AND he had the wrong spring length. So, I went on-line; ordered new springs, cables, bearings; had them within a week. Did it my self. And, now, you've lost our business. Absolute doofus for an employee with Gen Z work ethic and prices that are criminal. Hope you enjoy screwing everybody else who can't do their own work. DHD (Victoria's husband)

I gave him $40 cash and he said he would email me receipt. But he didn’t. The $40 was for the safety inspection. That he passed everything, but did not do any inspection. We scheduled you to come fix the rubber cracked seal. But he didn’t have the seal to replace on his truck. Needs me to call and reschedule another visit. Said to ask for him and he would know what to bring. Honestly. Because he took the cash and didn’t do an inspection and didn’t have product to replace on truck, when we specifically requested service for that reason, I am feeling uncomfortable with him. I had asked for Brian, because I trust in him. This Joey was a nice guy, but didn’t do anything and was not prepared, and took cash without sending the electronic receipt. Just too fishy for us. The technician came out to repair the chain on my gate. He didn’t have the parts to repair it at that time (not sure why he didn’t have the needed chains when that was the reason for the service call). But he said that it would be ordered and they should be back in a couple of days. I did get an invoice the same day stating the cost of supplies and service. However almost 2 weeks later I have yet to receive a follow up call and my gate remains broken. I will be looking for another company who can do this repair timely.

We are sorry you feel that the price we charged was higher than some of our competitors. We take pride in the quality of service we provide, our warranty, our professionalism, and our highly rated customer service. We are not trying to be the cheapest provider -- those guys come and go and leave a trial of unsatisfied customers in their wake. As our thousands of 5-Star reviews suggest, our customers appreciate our service and business model and see great value in using our service. For the record, this customer received a premium state of the art wifi enabled, with a camera, ultra bright LED lights, and battery back-up operator and a rebuild (replaced springs and all moving parts) which comes with the same warranty as a new door. Most reputable competitors would be within $100, either direction, of our pricing. We are confident that over time you will realize the value you received, especially if something fails and you need warranty service.

I requested to check out my garage motor to be checked as my remote doesn’t work but still works with hardwire button. Tech came out, gave me two cheapest option to replace motherboard for used motherboard he had $341 or new motor for $799. He did zero work just came out for a quote. I was charged $50 cause I declined both offers. I called precision when tech left cause I felt it was high priced and wanted to make sure that’s normal and seems it was and that’s what the tech had available and they did mention a genie motor for $500 but she wasn’t a tech so she couldn’t say exactly what I needed. I called 3 other garage repair companies and for new chamberlain motors wifi was $400-$500 installed. I don’t recommend precision garage do to price gauging and limited equipment the tech has on site. Tech never gave me a possible option of coming back with a genie motor or didn’t call his supervisor to possibly work with price. If you don’t care about paying for repair then this is for you. Tech lacked attention to detail and did not communicate upon completion of job to instruct how to operate the opener. The door was left unleveled and no light bulb and no instructions on what type of bulb is best suited. He returned for repair and did not level the door and stated “it’s no way it’s my fault,” also about the light bulbs “…we don’t carry them because they can break.” I would not recommend this individual. Our first tech on the first opener explained operation, replaced springs, and leveled the door, and helped with a light bulb.

Technician arrived on time and was friendly. However, he immediately recommended that we needed the $1,098 package and suggested a new tube for an additional $125. These prices seemed excessive as our springs were less than two years old. I made a few other calls and decided to get a second bid; despite the fact that our cars were trapped in the garage. I was charged $125 for the service call even though I was advised, over the phone, that the service call was $89. I received a second quote and most of the recommended items were not necessary. My garage door is now in good working order at a cost of $225 (plus the $125 that I lost to precision). Very disappointing.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself some time and money. Call Garage Door Services. Precision sent out a tech that didn’t know what he was doing , tried to call his boss who didn’t answer and then said it would be $500. He went from no clue to expert in less then 5 minutes. I called the office to discuss and the secretary tried to patch me through to the manager who would not pick up. Secretary promised to have her call me back and 24 hours later still no call. GDS came out this morning and fixed for $350.

Response:

Sam Park, thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback. I have tried to call you back and left a message. Our technicians go through a really comprehensive training program. Their typical day consists of working on 5-6 doors everyday that have similar issues as yours did. I understand that you did not feel comfortable with the technician using his experience and being able to identify the issue so quickly. I have been in similar situations that made me uncomfortable when I have had items repaired at my home that the service person was quick at identifying the issue. Our company’s priority is to have the highest customer service possible and the only way to do so is to have the valuable feedback when we miss this mark as in this case. We will be using this as an example to all of our people to help them better communicate with the customer. Our efforts are always to have the customer's best interest in mind and offer the highest quality parts that provide long term permanent solutions with warranties unlike many other businesses in the garage door industry. One of my other garage door spring was broken and he could not fix it while there, yet you advertise you carry all of the needed parts on the trucks. Called several times for to get this fixed and could not get a call back! Finally call a different company!

Response:

Mr. Stansbury, Thank you for your time on the phone. I'm glad to hear we were able to get your new garage door opener installed and that door back up and running for you. I'm also glad to hear our technician was able to notify you of a broken spring on a separate door. Unfortunately, that tech didn't have the correct spring on his truck to fix that door. Please feel free to call us if you'd like to schedule an appointment to have that replaced.

Big time rip-off. I take responsibility for my experience. I was swayed by the great reviews on the company’s website and was under pressure to get the work done, however, I should have went with my instincts. I was a little leery about the non-refundable service charge for not proceeding with work, but I should have walked away when multiple estimates around 1K were presented. The call was initiated for a broken spring. The technical inspection indicated safety concerns with the pulleys, operating cables, and safety cables. The invoice does not distinguish between labor and parts. $400 for two springs, $180 for one operating cable, $340 for four pulleys, and $180 for one safety cable. I am comfortable paying a little extra for premium quality and workmanship, but this seems excessive. The technician was pleasant and professional. He even facilitated a small discount after I expressed my bitterness, but I still felt ripped off. There is a three-year warranty, but I will be hard pressed to invoke it if necessary as I am fearful for what I may encounter. I cannot recommend this company.

Overpriced and know it. They charged twice as much to reset the door as the company I used before. Refused to give an estimate over the phone knowing they would hold the service charge over you. I still haven't gotten a receipt for the service despite 2 phone calls and 2 emails.

Response:

Thank you for your feedback. We are unable to give estimates until we see the problem on the garage door itself. At that point we can give an accurate estimate. Approval before work begins is MANDATORY for every customer, every time. You are given the chance to decline, discuss, or move forward. We do that to avoid exactly this. In your case specifically we never charged you the service charge so its not possible for us to hold it over you. The copy of your invoice you were given both through mail and email reflects this. We will happily issue you another if you would like. We would still like to remain your garage door company in the future.

Hi! hope all is well. What day/time would be good for us to talk about the work very recently done at my Dad's house in Clearwater. I understand from speaking with my 91 year old father that a spring was replaced on his garage door and the technician was there for less than an hour. I'd very much like to understand what was done and why the cost appears to be very much higher than what would be expected as confirmed by other vendors and his neighbors. Happy to have a call or more than happy to come to your office to discuss after Christmas Day. I emailed the address on his invoice and it bounced back - meaning the email address on the invoice is not valid. Strange..... Please do reply with an explanation of costs before we meet/discuss. thanks again for your help and look to fully understand what appears to be an error in billing. Ted Karas tedkaras@gmail.comn More than happy to discuss at any time. Obviously a mistake on your part on the billing for my elderly father. thanks again image.png

If I could give NO stars I would. I received an estimate and proceed to go with the work order. I never received service on my garage. I have to call everyday to find out the status. Everyone is busy and no one is able to give me answers. Why is it so hard to send a follow up email? Why is it hard to keep your customers informed? There was no service performed!!! I need answers please.

Response:

First I would like to apologize for any inconvenience or miscommunications. I was told when Mrs. Reese placed the order for her door on 11/13/22 that she was called and told the original ETA of the door was 12/5/22. Yesterday on 11/28/22 I received a call from the vendor and her door was in stock. I called Mrs. Reese personally and let her pick a date and time for install. Her install is scheduled for 12/2/22 from 2pm-6pm. If there is anything else I can do please let me know.

I called to get 1 broken spring fixed on my garage door, When the repair person arrived i showed him the broken spring. He told me i needed 2 new springs, new side door rollers, 2 new cable drums and new cables and i needed my opener motor tuned up. I was quoted between $285 to $300 on the phone so that's why I agreed to have him come out and was told the service call would be $69.99 but cut in half if i used them for the repair. His first estimate was $1400! I told him i only wanted the springs repaired and he said he would not it unless I replaced the drums and cables for $960 as he said they were wore out and the bearings were bad. He never opened the door or even touched the parts he said were bad. Needless to say I told him no thank you and he asked for the payment for the service call that I did pay. I called another company and they replaced both springs for $380! I called Precision to complain about my estimate and the service call payment I made for the unfair estimate as I believed I was baited and switched when the repairman showed up and was told the manager would call me back to discuss the problem. No call back ! Beware and read the 1 star reviews before calling them.

Spent less than 15 minutes at my house and cost nearly $200. Completely scammed, wouldn’t recommend at these prices.

Response:

We have reached out to this customer regarding his review and have attached the response to the resolution: Brad, I appreciate the response back and follow up to this concern. I am well aware that the individual came out on a Sunday and had years of experience, and for that I am grateful. I’m glad that he wasn’t stuck at my hour for hours on end while having a family back home. At the time of repair I didn’t question the bill because I wanted him to be on his way because of this. I was $5 short of that $75 charge falling off my bill and would have paid him to do another lube or spray to have that $75 fall off but I never said an itemized chart of the bill. I greatly appreciate you having that charge removed and will recommend your company in the future for quick response times and repairs Shawn Galla

I recently had a door and opener installed for my Father and thought I would get the same led Liftmaster setup. Instead got a super cheap opener and had to pay for the keypad and extra opener for the same price. I'm hoping the door purchased will be the same in a couple of months when it arrives for installation.
