I’m going to share my experience with you so that you don’t have to experience it yourself. We bought this house in Penfield just a couple of months over a year ago. We knew we’d have to spend a lot to get it to where we wanted it to be, but we didn’t realize the garage door springs were about to break. We moved a lot of our things into the garage because we needed to keep the rooms clear for the work we were doing and in less than a week one of the torque springs broke and the door was no longer functional. We had moved here so that my wife could take care of her mother and we had no idea who to call, so I started dialing. I got ahold of a “same day” garage repair company and they did come out and replace our springs, charging us $800. Less than a year went by before the garage door broke, halfway open. We couldn’t move it. I called the company explaining the situation and they said they send someone right out. They said it on Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. The whole time the door was off the rails and open to the elements. I gave up on that company. Why try to force them to come out when they obviously weren’t going to? By this time we had met a few locals and I called around. One of our new acquaintances suggested Precision Door because they had done a good job for his mother. So I called them and they dispatched a tech that afternoon. Phil Mormon was his name and he came out evaluated the situation and gave us two options. First he could fix the thing and it would work for a while but the whole mechanism was worn out and he couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t fail again. I’m a do-it-yourself kind of guy and I had been nursing that garage door for a year, so we asked about a replacement. He prepared a quote for us. To completely replace the door was not much more than to fix it with no guarantee. It was an easy call for us. We ordered the door and today they came out as promised when placed the order. Our tech Phil was sent, which was comforting because he sold us on the plan and it’s always nice to see that he was not just a sales guy, he also installed the product. When he was done he walked us through everything that he did, told us he’d come out and correct any issues with only the dispatch fee, and loaded up all the pieces of the old door, the panels, the rails, the old trim, basically leaving us to just enjoy having a functioning door again! As someone who has spent most of his life in Los Angeles, I have to tell you that my experience living in Rochester has been a pleasant surprise!

I put off an Electric door opener for our garage for 50 years. Z arrived as scheduled. He gave me several options. Two hours later, we had our new electric opener installed. At our age, it will be especially helpful on these cold days this winter.

My second experience with Precision working on my garage door after they replaced my springs only back in 2017. This time the work was much more comprehensive, nearly a full replacement minus the actual door itself. My technician “Z” is the consummate professional, he knows exactly what he’s doing and exactly why he’s doing it. He said it would take about two hours and true to his word, two hours later he had upgraded my door hardware, replaced the springs, and replaced the old failing garage door opener with a brand new Liftmaster (which he also programmed for us and got the phone app working properly). All accomplished for exactly the estimated amount, to the dollar. Couldn’t be happier, thanks Z and thanks Precision!

Cable and springs’ wheels out of alignment so door would not open or close … Saun arrived, evaluated the situation & raised the door with difficulty … replaced problem equipment and within an hour everything operated correctly again!
