Today, a very nice technician named Alex came to our house to fix our garage door. We had a broken spring, and the door wouldn’t open without help. Since we previously had our garage door replaced by Precision Garage Door Service—with amazing results—I went online and easily scheduled an appointment through their website. Alex arrived on time, carefully inspected our garage door, explained the repairs needed, and outlined the costs and options available. I like to keep up with the music kids are listening to these days but, until Alexander installed our new garage door opener, I’d never heard of Norwegian Dwarf Metal. It’s like Norwegian Death Metal, he said, but about dwarves (and presumably elves). The old opener installed some 20 odd years ago by one of your competitors broke into a lot of pieces, so I called said competitor and after trying several times got somebody to pick up the phone. The tech they sent over looked like he’d crawled through air ducts to get here. He gave me prices for the most expensive openers on the entire planet, including Norway, and said they could install it first thing next week. I called you guys. Jake gave me the rundown on brands, prices, warranties, answered questions, had helpful suggestions, and said they could install that afternoon and all would be ready to go by the time I got home from work. And so it was. Gone was the screaming banshee of a chain drive, replaced with a belt drive that nearly hums, quietly, to itself. The PDS 370 isn’t the priciest opener - I don’t need another smart appliance - but it isn’t the cheapest either. Sure, you could DIY with a cheap Genie from Home Depot, but then you wouldn’t be hip to the tasty tunes coming out of the fjords.
