PRECISION GARAGE DOOR SERVICE OF EAST BAY

As a project manager, I am all about quick responses and helpful solutions. I called Precision Door Service on a Monday and had a technician out to the property on Tuesday morning. He quickly identified the problem and had the parts to correct it immediately. I have used Precision Door Service whenever I have a garage door that needs repair. I am very grateful for their expertise, professionalism, and communication.

The advertising was great but the service did not live up to the ads. I typically do not write reviews but I wanted to make others aware of my experience so you can be aware. I was unable to open my garage door and asked for a quote to solve the problem. The Precision technician (Sheridan) came out same-day and in less than 5 minutes of looking at the door opener he told me I needed an entire new system with a larger door motor, a larger spring and new side rails. In less than 5 minutes he gave me a quote for $2300. He did not perform any work. He looked at the keypad and told me the keypad was "too old and the instructions were missing" so he was unable to trouble-shoot the keypad. I paid him the $40 service charge and asked him to leave. I had another contractor help me and he changed the battery in the keypad and solved the problem. So, my door works after a keypad battery replacement. Be careful. Seems like this crew is only interested in total system replacements. I have a 2nd house in need of a new door and new opener. I had intended to schedule Precision at the 2nd house but think I'll try another service for now.

We are a returning customer. Had some repairs done previously on our door. This time we had to replace our genie unit. James, who installed our new unit, explained cleary the process, and we choose the belt driven unit. I would highly recommend this unit, it is so quiet compared to our older unit. On a scale of 1 - 5, I would rate the whole process 5 star.

James did a good job and my garage door is working again after coming off of its rails. He came when he said he would and was polite and fixed the problem. My only complaint is that I did not get an itemized bill but I have asked for one.

The repairman who responded was totally and completely unprofessional. He approached our home peering thru the kitchen window instead of coming to the front door and announcing himself. He completely unsettled my wife with that crude approach. When he entered the garage he told me the job would cost $550.00 350 for a spring and 175 for Ball Bearings. He also stated it would cost $800.00 if I chose to replace the rollers which he felt I needed to have replaced. Considering a new door only cost 1200 his estimate was ridiculous. When I asked how long it would take to do this work he said OH 20 minutes or so. To make thing worse, when I called to make this appointment I was told that there would be a 50% reduction on the service call which was originally priced at 50.00. He denied any knowledge of any such arrangement. He turned in anger removed the few screws he had place in the door and left angry and upset after I told him his prices were exorbitant and that I would seek the services of another company. I in fact called another company RS overhead they came out fixed the door at 1/3 the cost that your technician had proposed. If this man represents your company, your presentation to the clients is in need a comprehensive overhaul. I will make certain to never use or refer your company to anyone in need of garage door services.

Far too expensive for the repair work which was minimal and maybe took an hour to reattach a cable and oil the springs. $354.00 is highway robbery no new equipment parts installed. Will for sure never use your company again and will not recommend to anyone. Very misleading information provided relating to the extent of the repair based on your standard acknowledge questions I will as well remove the signage mentioning your company from my property.

Doris - Thank you for your honest opinion of our recent service. I hear from time to time that we are more expensive. In your case, you had a racked door that is dangerous. We chare a greater fee when dealing with a racked door due to the possibility of injury to body or your property.

One of the better home service experiences I have encountered. They were very prompt, fair and helpful. No one tried to oversell anything. This place is THE place to get any problem you have with your garage door fixed. I called as soon as my garage door broke and they came out immediately. Mike arrived just a short while later. He diagnosed it and then explained what we needed to do to get it fixed. It took just under and hour. I am very pleased. And now I can actually leave my home through the garage. Malek T came to make the repairs. Turns out we have a non-standard door (1917 house) which the springs didn't fit. He was helpful, conscientious and quick - it just wouldn't work. I would recommend them again for a standard situation.
